The chart presented here shows the special moves (called gambits) available to the warden. The warden was introduced to Turbine's MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online in the Mines of Moria expansion. The warden was added in the Mines of Moria expansion (the runekeeper was the other new class added introduced in the expansion). The warden wears medium armour and is a robust and versatile fighter with strong melee attacks, ranged javelin strikes, self-heals, debuffs and threat management skills. At higher levels, the warden can group heal with the Conviction gambit.
The warden has three primary attacks
The warden uses these three skills in a specific order to unlock combinations called gambits. The chart presented here illustrates all the gambits available to a level 60 warden. Each gambit is associated with a primary attack order sequence (e.g. wall of steel, a devastating 3-strike attack which disrupts inductions and increases the warden's parry rating, is a 4-move gambit ••••).
I like the warden because the class' core skill set is very small, keeping action bars uncluttered. The complexity of the class (and cognitive load it places on the player) arises from the large number of 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-skill gambits. Committment to a gambit path is mitigated by the Quick Recovery skill, which allows the warden to back up one skill in the gambit tree and alter their gambits on-the-fly.
The effects of each gambit are encoded using icons that represent a variety of effects. To look up a gambit, start at the center of the chart and follow the edges along the desired attack combination.
Thanks to the warden community (especially rainyman, dbrowdy, ringbearer13, and lagunad) who have worked with me to improve this chart (warden chart thread).
Version 0.56 is current as of Volume 3 Book 1. If you find an error or notice out-of-date gambit definitions, please report required changes to me and I will adjust the chart accordingly.
