using the mailing lists

The mailing lists use Mailman. If you are not familiar with mailing lists, read a tutorial.

To subscribe, unsubscribe and otherwise change your account status, visit the list's home page (users, admins).

To write to the list, send your email to the list's address. You must subscribe to the list before you can post to it. You can receive periodic digests encapsulating recent posts to the list.

We encourage everyone to use the mailing lists in preference to email addressed to catch-all aliases. The mailing lists provide archival functionality, centralize communication and even get picked up by Google.
